Baby #2 has just weaned. Time for another data visualization thread!

Again, I recorded nearly every breastfeeding session, this time for almost 17 months. Baby #2's graphs are interesting on their own, but it's also very exciting to have the opportunity to make comparisons. There are some big differences between the graphs for Baby #1 and Baby #2, so I'll be looking at that as we go along.

Marinara taste testing thread!

I was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the large selection of pasta sauces at my local grocery store. So I decided to blind taste test 15 different brands of marinara.

Here are some conclusions, ratings, tasting notes, and a little on the how Image Conclusions first because this is general stuff that applies even if you don’t care about which particular brands I tested. I definitely learned more from this experience than just which sauces I did and didn’t like, so I wanted to share that here.

I’m not sure anything else in my life has made me so viscerally feel that something about modern society is messed up than trying to take care of a baby. It’s not that I’d never come across things like injustice, twisted incentive structures, and propaganda before. But those things feel more human. I would expect humans anywhere and when to hurt and manipulate each other.
