I think my personal feeling on the Benioff & Weiss panel is that they were candid about the sorts of things that are probably common on a lot of shows but the optics weren’t great because of their privilege and the prevailing sentiment towards the end of the show. They were speaking to a room full of writers - I’ve been to a few years of AFF and it is very writer-centric - and would probably not have been so candid and self-deprecating in a room full of fans at Comic-Con.

There’s a fine line between recommending something you love and demanding that someone give up their free time for pop culture I always try to err on the side of recommending something unimpeachably good that isn’t a huge time commitment, thus saving my plaudits for where it counts
