So in the last couple of days Jacob Farr posts an article with a video of a cyclist doing nothing wrong, with a BMW X5 driver breaking multiple road laws, and a dubbed 'ditty' overlaid on the original gleefully singing about wanting to run someone over (the cyclist) with a truck. The video has also been sped up, presumably to shorten the time between the cyclist clearing the roundabout and the X5 appearing to make it look worse. And this video is used to suggest that the cyclist is in the wrong.

A wee Nuthatch was the star of the show on a walk to the
Figgate Park to clear my head. In 15 years walking there, including many as a Friend responsible for wildlife photos, I'd never seen one here (though saw reports and photos from others) 1/4 ImageImage Until that point a group of 5 Bullfinches (4 male, 1 female) had been the justifiable highlight. 2/4 ImageImage

I should apologise to anyone who is a bit fed up of my feed becoming a 'safer cities / safer Edinburgh' blast recently. I've got pretty caught up in not wanting people to die or be hurt. That'll be continuing for the foreseeable, though... I'll still be sprinkling in pictures of the cats, maybe some cartoons and drawings, and anticipate by the middle of the week to have a new twitter feed set up to carry the weight of the #enough vibe. Not that this feed will abandon the safety message of course.

@AllDun1 @blackfordsafer1 @EdinReporter Okay, I'm going to bite, but I'm sure you're a reasonable person who would want to base things on facts rather than incorrect beliefs. Let's start with Road Tax. It doesn't exist. It was abolished in (I think) 1937, by then Chancellor Winston Churchill... ctd @AllDun1 @blackfordsafer1 @EdinReporter One of the main reasons for abolishing it was a worry that it would make drivers think they had more right to use the roads than pedestrians, cyclists, and horses. Genuinely, it's recorded in Hansard. So what's paid is Vehicle Excise Duty, or VED.... ctd
