CW: disturbing themes, thoughts about self-harm
After the revolution, life becomes a lot more routine. Sure, change doesn't happen overnight, but Connor has a job, has a routine, has a home. He has a future.
Isn't that supposed to feel better? he wonders.
Stability. Not worrying whether he's going to be decommissioned tomorrow.
And he has Hank. The uncertainty is gone, Hank's temper had abated. His hot and cold moods settled into unwavering love.
He's supposed to be happy. But it just feels... empty.

Hank teaching Connor to cook some of his family's dishes, and he can't deal with it
The recipes available to androids are SUPER specific. Right down to the gram. They ask for owner's feedback on how salty/sweet/spicy it is, and make slight adjustments for taste.
But Hank's family recipe is completely arbitrary.
Hank: "A pinch of salt"
Connor: "How many grams is in a pinch??"
Hank: "Idk just pinch it, look."
Connor: "This is VERY imprecise."
Hank: "A dash of cinnamon"
Connor, cycling red: "What the hell is a dash, Hank?"

Thinking about prison HankCon. Hank as a seasoned prisoner, well-connected and feared. Thinks he's dead inside.
Until Connor shows up, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and defends a new, scared inmate from Gavin.
And Hank is surprised to find himself stepping in to protect Connor.
After that, everyone assumes that he and Connor have an Arrangement, and Warden Fowler has them put in the same cell.
And Connor thinks so too, and was perfectly happy to let Hank protect him, but once they're in the cell Hank makes it very clear that that's not what's going on.
