Ukrainian in Canada (thread)

On TikTok I encounter a lot of “go back home” and “asking for handouts” type of comments from Canadians (immigrants with PR mostly) on videos by my countrymen who are sharing their journey, struggles and attempts to integrate.

Let’s dive in: (1) Most people are scared about inflation, current immigration policy (that they most likely benefitted from), inaccessible healthcare, housing shortage, and general anxiety and instability.

I completely get that and I’m sorry Canadians also struggle - life’s tough everywhere. (2)
