Iranian regime leads the world in executing children & has done so for decades. Girls as young as 9! They also arrest & torture children as a matter of course. Fact they can garner support from people who claim to be specifically appalled by harm to children is extremely curious.
Boys have to be 15 to be executed in Iran. Girls only 9. Child brides are often sentenced to death. Iran is also the world’s leading executioner of women. Think of that when you hear anyone support the regime.

Eli Sharabi says because he speaks Arabic he was able to speak to & understand his Hamas captors & one of the more bizarre things about them is their absolute certainty they will follow up the destruction of Israel with conquering the UK & the US. They’re convinced of this.
This is outlandish & ridiculous in some senses but it also speaks to an intent in their organisation & raises questions about their activities. Destroying Israel is outlandish & ridiculous but they are committed to it & engaged in actions to achieve it.

On Bluesky they are freaking out about EHRC advice & never once considering how their response is down to fact they never understood law as it stands because they chose to disdain whole swathes of erudite female equality law professionals in favour of activists who were wrong.
They were told their interpretation of the law wasn’t sound & they would have to campaign for a change in it but they chose to ignore those v experienced female lawyers who told them this & instead ploughed on with persecuting them & anyone woman who dared disagree. I wonder why?

Here again, if I was to read this article with little or no prior knowledge of the Holocaust, as increasing numbers do in the 21st century, I would come away thinking it was a generalised desire to kill rather than a specific attempt to exterminate Jews which characterised Nazism
Those who affect not to understand the difference between using a drug to delay precocious puberty & the risks of delaying puberty beyond ‘normal’ age are either deliberately pretending not to understand or too uncomprehending too have a view worth hearing
Precocious puberty carries serious medical risks such as increased risk of cancer & metabolic disorders. Delaying puberty to ‘normal’ age can help to mitigate against these risks. This is a completely different set of circumstances to delaying puberty well beyond ‘normal’ age.

Hamas war crimes relating to harm to Palestinian civilians are simply being ignored by ICC & international community. These war crimes were written into law to prevent combatants from using civilians & civilian infrastructure as shields. Ignoring them incentivises use of shields
Writers of international law recognised an aggressor couldn’t simply be allowed to embed themselves in a civilian population to escape attack. There had to be serious censure on those who tried to use civilians as cover for their aggression. Hamas are inexplicably being excused.

What really gets me is Hamas are meant to administer Gaza, they are trusted by int community in myriad ways inc statistics on casualties & they should have a responsibility for Gazan citizens, yet nowhere will you hear criticism of them from govts or NGOs for failing their people
It’s remarkable. Hamas start a war with incursion into Israel featuring truly unusual barbaric slaughter of civilians & mass kidnap which would demand military response from any country on earth, thus exposing their population to war, yet there are almost no demands of them.

Tonmy Robinson & racist goons are a disgrace. I’d physically front up to them to protect their targets. Many of those opportunistically disgusted by them would not do same for those who have felt fear from 1000s of antisemites who’ve had run of London streets in recent weeks.

Problem with Rory Stewart, like a lot of people who hold themselves to be significantly above average intelligence, is he trusts his instincts too much & therefore likely doesn’t waste his time doing the reading. I would be amazed if he’s bothered to read the EHRC report.
Or the action plan Labour had to agree with the EHRC in order to prove it was now acting lawfully. Or the statement Corbyn made which contained sentiments the EHRC held to be antisemitic. Corbyn was given the chance to abide by the rules but refused. Stewart is just uninformed.

One of the worst aspects of framing the problem as Pakistani vs white is it erases non white victims. In the Jay report on Rotherham women of Pakistani heritage in Rotherham complained about how they were sidelined & how abuse in their community was completely ignored
