Good evening. Following Bernie’s 3-for-3 early state victories, Joe Biden has a chance to revive his floundering campaign with a win in tomorrow’s South Carolina primary.
It’s unclear whether a resounding Biden win would give him adequate momentum to overcome his yawning polling deficits in the 13 states voting three days later on Super Tuesday. Many of these votes are already locked in through early voting.

It works like Iowa with some crucial differences. Voters assemble at precinct caucuses and pick their candidate. This is the initial count. If their candidate doesn’t meet the viability threshhold (usually 15%) they can realign to viable candidate. This is the final count.

OK. First thing to know is the results released so far (75% of precincts) are legitimate to the degree that no one has objected to them. Remember these votes all took place in public, with the campaigns being immediately alerted to the results of each precinct.

of course Iowa and New Hampshire are wildly unrepresentative of the country, and their voting first is completely arbitrary. they also voted in the last two competitive primaries for the first black nominee, the first female nominee, and (pending) the first Jewish nominee
