I added an all new cover to a book today and was very tired and I can't remember if the book is good, only that I liked it long ago and it has spooky stones in it I finished reading it and was uncomfortable to begin with that the adults keep calling the boy with polio "lazy" about getting better, but the story itself gives a much more nuanced understanding I think. I need to process it a bit more, but it is definitely a strong story

Submitted my chapter book. Am very tired. I believe at this point it is traditional to abandon all hope and apologise for wasting so much time writing this thing? I think that is the natural rejection reaction which helps to release the draft into the wild

This just arrived. Now I can deboss book covers!! Which means I can make nice cloth bound hardbacks with titles printed on the spine. My old ink pad was dried up so I made a mess, I mean, a new one

My top lockdown achievement is learning every single word of the Vy'keen language in No Man's Sky. I don't think that's even supposed to be possible. I just happened to meet a warrior with infinite patience at a low point in my life.
Literally, due to some bug one of the Vy'keen in one particular space station didn't grey out the option to teach you one word of their language after being talked to.

Zoom sucks, we started having editorial meetings in Red Dead Redemption instead. It's nice to sit at the campfire and discuss projects, with the wolves howling out in the night Sometimes the game forgets that the camp exists and suddenly your just in the dark woods with the wolves, but that's kind of invigorating.

I am looking back over my workshop notes and I feel like making a thread about social things I wish I had known before coming to the UK 20 years ago to study with and then run workshops for people here.
