I cannot believe what I just heard the CDC director say about teen boys….using quite possibly the least accurate study on this topic I have ever seen to say they have up to 5 times the risk of myocarditis from Covid than vax.

To use this junk statistic in 2023 is inexcusable. Not only does the 5x statistic include MIS-C, which no longer is an issue, but it also vastly overestimated myocarditis from Covid because it used EHR diagnosed Covid only. And vaccinated still get Covid.

This statistic has shown up in every ACIP meeting and now in this video.

Please read this.
These are stories of people who did not have a mild 2 day side effect and then fully recover. This narrative has been false since the beginning and it makes me angry to think how many times I said so and was criticized for doing so. Uniformly, people with this side effect, even if symptoms resolve, are put on activity restrictions for months. That alone was ignored. The narrative that this is a nothingburger was perpetuated by Twitter and TV MDs who were scared of saying anything negative about the vaccine.

No surprises, disappointingly, from the ACIP meeting.

Looked at the slides. It's been eye opening during covid to see how limited/bad data ends up having such large policy impact.

Anyone have a transcript? Curious if the term 'subclinical' came up at any time. This slide has bugged me forever, and it won't go away.

The 3rd bullet that most have fully recovered glosses over what is now known about how long it takes to recover for many and remaining unknowns.

The fourth bullet is a highly misleading study that I've commented on before. Image
