🔻🔻🔻This is based on a famous piece by El Lissitzky, a Jewish communist, called "Beat the Whites with the Red Wedge" (1919). Much of the original piece invoked Jewish ideas about messianic redemption refashioned for the revolutionary Bolshevism of the time.
It's fun to think about the red wedge 🔻, as symbol of resistance, being connected to this Jewish history, one which rejected orthodoxy and the reactionary Jewish community and embraced a revolutionary politics forged by diasporic, secular judiasm
