My unpopular opinion is that Instagram+ Facebook In their puritanical zeal to eliminate/down rate  “low quality content” that appeals to our lizard brains… didn’t actually realize their Desired outcome

At one point Zuck figured “maybe I can get more brand friendly engagement & increase daily usage times if people upon concluding a feed scrolling session browsing the app left with a positive feeling vs a guilty feeling of having wasted time”

But the truth is whether it’s  “junk food” or “junk content” the “junk” part of it —the cheap thrills that

Some YouTuber made a video casting aspersions on my stalker story because when I did the Anthony Padilla interview I reference a stalker, and she’s saying “these dates don’t square up”

Her video was originally titled something that casted doubt pm the story or made it Image sound like I had made it up.

It shows the different realities that we live in. For her two stalker stories couldn’t possibly be separate incidents, so she’s like

“yo why doesn’t anyone realize her Padilla interview was in January but her stalker tweet said ‘may thru June’”

So either some followers got the Houston Mayors attention or some large papers covered it

Got a call apparently at behest of mayor. Unfortunately not the right jurisdiction but hopefully this goes up chain to right place

There’s an additional detail about call I’ll hold back commenting on for now.

Appreciate the help whoever pushed this thru

My stalker traveled from Estonia, Europe and came to my city, camping out in a hotel with line of sight to my PO BOX and spent OVER A MONTH camping out daily at a starbucks next to my PO box.

44 days..... 33mins

He psychotically streamed every minute of his excursion (internet signal permitting).  Everything in real time, on twitch.  Typically to zero viewers, but growing as he gained notoriety.   His account would get taken down, but he would make another, maybe using the

People laughed at me when I bought the gas stations

Do we dip our toes into sin stocks here? Near 8% SUSTAINABLE dividend, the debt on the balance sheet is literally MELTING alway due to inflation… Most people still don’t get the gas station - “low rate of return” is the common refrain

But it is a “low rate of return” on capital that i otherwise wouldn’t have.  Imagine if someone said “here’s $1m”. Ur gonna earn 7% on it. You don’t have to pay interest to borrow it btw.

END OF AN ERA. IT’S TIME TO STOP BEING AN E-GIRL COLD TURKEY AND QUIT 0NLY FANS IN JUNE. GOING ALL OUT TIL THEN, WILL GO OUT WITH A BANG -GRAND FINALE

FIRST UP, I JUST MADE 350,000-$400,000 INVESTMENT IN CONTENT ON TWITCH. YOU ARE ALL INVITED, WILL ANNOUNCE AT END OF WEEK Outcome is binary, either it works or it doesn’t. We’re ALL-IN.

I’ve often talked about a career pivot. But I’ve sort of been picking my spot, investing, accruing capital and deploying it when opportunities make sense. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I PUT CONSIDERABLE REAL

Imagine a world without anything other than ingredients that make pie, and pie

Imagine In this world the pies once baked, never go bad.

Imagine some people gifted with unparalleled efficiency in perfectly leveraging the means of production, who thusly produce more pie for themselves than they can eat in 1000x lifetimes. They hoard the pies, they eat their share, but their plates overfloweth. Eventually they die. As long as they are not allowed to control the pies beyond the grave, and the pies are allowed to be distributed among the rest of

The World is more or less oriented around capitalism.  Capitalism is far from perfectly fair, but it has a self-regulating function against super basic incentives/agency problems that totally pervert other systems. Capitalism is fairly good at (rudimentary) problem solving.  It spits out the “minimum viable product” of solutions to material scarcity problems.    Huge estate tax% probably help fix the biggest of the alignment issues.

However Some problems will NEVER have economic solutions.  To solve THOSE problems currently you need to succeed in the

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING: you have GOT to understand where the value Accrues to on an industry folks

112 years ago if I told you autos were going to be everywhere, each household would own like 2 automobiles (up from zero). Assuming you could grok what a “mechanized horse buggy sans the horse” is you might have thought investing in US automakers was a good idea. Out of 3000 auto companies (yes there have been THREE THOUSAND) , $F is the only one that didn’t go bankrupt (go to zero, wiping you out) at some point and it was

GUESS WHAT?

In a dazzling career pivot I bought a PLASTIC BALL MANUFACTURER (for playpens, ball pits & more -see below)

Basically a Co where the predominant biz involves manufacturing/distributing “high quality/performance” hollow plastic, plastic & rubber balls”!

A thread 👇🏻 A few salient things:
The company sources, manufactures and distributes/does it’s business domestically. This is one of the FEW players with a low cost-structure outside of China/Emerging markets. I think domestic is increasingly important part of the equation

I own a

OOPS!…. I DID IT AGAIN

In another stunning career pivotal I bought an INFLATABLE POOL TOY COMPANY!

Or rather is “consumer pool paraphernalia, accessories and inflatable toy product manufacturer”

A thread 👇🏻 Just a few broad strokes:

Company does ~$15mil in annual revenue. Is/was growing low single digits (but had a couple of down revenue years during the pandemic).

High-teens % EBITDA margins (investopedia.com/terms/e/ebitda…)

And the WHOLE COMPANY

I’ve got a friend who is very smart. Who everytime I have a new idea I run past him. He never likes the idea & brings up the downside, the risks, why it won’t work.

I always listen, then tweak my approach, try to prepare solutions for the problems he has anticipated.

Critics and skeptical people always sound smarter. It’s just the way it is. Take their counsel, whatever they offer, make adjustments and game it out. Sometimes you won’t have a solution for the hypothetical problems they propose. Just keep plugging, keep moving forward anyways. Set

Ready for the Narrative violation?

When I started blowing up on twitch many people in my real life sphere of influence ( read: attractive girls) began to emulate “my model.” I mean it’s super easy right?

Many of them even had access to me as a Resource or knew someone who Worked with me. I tried to dissuade all of them from focusing on twitch as a primary platform because it is HARD. people are attracted to the prospect of “just press live and go.” Sadly this self selects foe the type of person who is most ill-suited to “making it” long term as

When people tell me I live life on “easy model”

What they mean to say is that I make it look easy.

Hard choices = easy life
Easy choices = hard life

A MISTAKE THAT COSTS ME $2M A YEAR…

A lot of people are resistant to try new platforms or lack the gumption to jump on nascent opportunities.

I use to be the same way - then I realized that getting FREE optionality is ALWAYS a good thing, let me explain… Years ago when I was a successful patreon creator OF approached me to try out this “new opportunity”

At the time my patreon was doing $160k/ a month and I didn’t see any urgency in taking a flier on this new thing. I still

A lot of people are criticizing me for lack of diversification. visa $V is my SMALLEST position.

I still have many many months worth of $1m earnings held as “dry powder” in case the market swoons (we can only hope!)

(Continue in next tweet) In a June interview I mentioned not having bought any stocks or other investments all year. In august and October I bought about $2,000,000 of google stock spread out throughout the 2 month (so it’s not a really cool looking screenshot like visa is)

And of course you saw

Every incremental person @YouTubeGaming takes increases the value of the remaining big twitch streamers. The pillars of twitch.

The negotiating leverage @REALMizkif , @Sykkuno @xQc @hasanthehun wield just increased, its like a high stakes game of creator musical chairs. Twitch internally prob has a different perspective. They probably think the platform is where the lion share or value resides, to continue with the musical chairs analogy, the value accrues to the seats rather than the person sitting in it.

Netflix is an analog. Netflix shows

I bought Bitcoin at between $6,000 and $9,000 during 2020 at the urging of a well informed first who works at one of these Web 3.0 companies.

I didn’t really buy it as a speculation, it was a crude inflation hedge on the thesis that it was essentially digital gold. I keep a Rolling and sizable cash position since I have pledged commitments to fund private equity and Real Estate PE investments so the amount I keep liquid can “seem” irresponsible (opposite of most people who have too little cash for emergencies). The solution was to hold 5% in BTC

People refer to me as smart or a “ruthless biz woman” but I’ve never felt smart. I just feel like In each given scenario I’m doing the most logical / rational thing. To supplement/ make up for the imposter syndrome feeling I drive myself to work harder and harder. And then Somewhere In that fog of war something magical happens. Pattern recognition kicks in, and when you think about and around a subject long enough you start to develop a proficiency with it (businessinsider.com/malcolm-gladwe…). You start
