Today, our fixer in Dnipro, Ukraine tried to refuse payment for all his hard work. Now he’s donating his payment to aid organizations helping his countrymen. (1/6)
For those of you who don’t know, a fixer is a local person who helps international journalists on the ground in areas they aren’t familiar with and often also acts as a translator. Their contacts and insider knowledge is invaluable. (2/6)

A new colleague just stopped by my desk to inquire about these awesome signs @postguild made for the #equalpay campaign and what men like him could do to help. I was so taken aback I just stared at him for a minute.
No man has EVER asked me that. EVER.
