I do believe in giving people who are high risk for COVID + are currently not taking precautions some grace. I think it’s a disservice to frame it as”willful ignorance” on their end when almost every doctor they encounter is downplaying the presence of COVID.
To *them*, it’s not willful ignorance because they are following their doctor’s orders. And many people are taught that the experts know best. So, when it comes to heeding the warning of a “lay person”, no matter how well researched, there will be resistance.

The best thing that’s happened this year was relocating to a city with Covid conscious events. My mental health is in such a better place.
I get to dress up again, go out, and have fun without compromising my safety.
Tomorrow, I’m going to a Black, Queer + Trans open mic that’s masked required and I’m so excited.
