Thanks, everyone, for a very interesting array of thoughts and suggestions!
It seems like there's maybe two basic questions:

1. What to do, and

2. Strategies for doing it. I feel like, on the first question, we may not all be in the same place.

And/or we might like to think about where we are a bit. (We'd be bad, bad centrists otherwise.)
