What the russians did to Mykhailo Dianov, one of the Azovstal defenders.

They took off bandages from his arm and left it to rot. It is now deformed and missing ~4 cm of bones. A long and costly treatment awaits for him. This is Mykhailo’s sister’s bank info, if you’d like to help.

Breaking Bad taught me that New Hampshire — a place I otherwise know very little about — has the coolest motto (and license plates) in existence. This really resonates with us here: in Ukrainian we say Volia abo smert’ — meaning Freedom or death. Volia can be found in the 1st line of our national anthem: ‘Ukrainian freedom and glory have not yet perished’.
Another word for freedom is svoboda, and it’s also there: ‘We will sacrifice our body and soul for our freedom’. Freedom is kind of a thing here: it’s our national idea

I wonder why the debate on visa ban for russian tourists automatically brings up the topic of suffering opposition, academics and asylum seekers, not the likes of these two cathedral admirers who wouldn’t have been able to poison anyone with a ban/proper vetting procedure. I wonder how many Wagner mercenaries will make it out of Ukraine and end up at a beach in Nice in a couple of years. You think they hide their faces cause some rus liberal in Perm might stab them upon return? No, of course not. They plan to have a life, maybe even in your country

So @amnesty decided to release a little piece which at best misrepresents, and at worst directly attacks Ukrainian army. Now, @amnesty is a free organisation of a free world where one is totally free to be a russian asset if one wishes. However, let’s clarify a couple of things. Image The selective virtue-signalling is a convenient tool through which organisations that were useful decades ago, if ever, try to remain relevant in modern age. It allows them to imitate important activity while avoiding taking any risks, like confronting the aggressor.

Russian neo-nazi “Rusich” bataillon taking part in the war against Ukraine at first: fancy posing in front of the Z-marked cars 😎🔥

*a little while later*: several fighters, including commander, have received injuries and we are once again asking for you financial support :(( Why would I call them neo-nazi? Well, their official emblem is kolovrat, used by Russian neo-nazis as their own swastika

Peaceful life comes with a set of privileges, and compassion is one of them. Innocence is another.

«Poor baby», some lady’s comment read under a picture of a 20-something captured Russian soldier. «He looks terrified. He probably wants to go home, to his mom». The soldier in the picture did look positively mortified: pale lips, big scared brown eyes, a mix of fear and confusion.

Real easy to forget that a couple of hours before that picture was taken this man shot, say, someone’s grandpa point blank in the face for talking to him.

Some time ago, Alexey Navalny wrote a thread on why it is crucial for 🇷🇺 to show to the world that it’s Putin, and not 🇷🇺, who is responsible for war in 🇺🇦

Navalny understands that every day of 🇷🇺 silence is catastrophic. Not for the 🇺🇦 victims they don’t care about: for Russia. The idea of 🇷🇺, a 140+ mil people country, being held captive by one Kremlin maniac is tempting. It’s easier to deal with one Disney villain. For the first week of the 🇷🇺 full-scale war against Ukraine, the world was willing to wholeheartedly believe the Not All Russians mantra.

To everyone surprised by @Nestle choosing to stay in Russia: have you guys ever read anything about Nestle? They sound like a company founded by Putin, Stalin and Hitler altogether, why are we even surprised? Image Remember that one time they kept demanding money from Ethiopia despite the fact that there was a literal famine there? Or that one time there was melamine found in their products in China? A personal story.

Several years ago my mom was sitting on a train headed from Kharkiv to Kyiv. A woman next to her initiated a friendly chat, and they proceeded to exchange simplified versions of their life stories: a common thing for extroverts on Ukrainian trains. A woman was intrigued upon learning that our family left Crimea after the 2014 annexation; however, what left her absolutely stunned was the fact that we chose to move to one of the utmost-Western regions of Ukraine, literally as far from Russia as we could.

No, I do not believe Marina Ovsyannikova.

I also don’t believe Navalny, or any other Russian “liberal” white supremacists who’ve been extremely busy advocating for war in Ukraine, Syria, Georgia and Chechnya for the past decades, and are now “changing their mind”. However, I do think they are useful. The cracks begin to show. The “liberal” tower of Moscow aren’t happy they are being dragged to the ocean floor — where all of them rightfully belong — together with their Dobby the house elf overlord.

Hence the performance.

🇵🇱 and 🇺🇦 activists were blocking a 28-km line of rus trucks (“Z” painted on some) filled with god knows what, on their way to Belarus from the EU.

Then the police intervened, forcing activists to retreat.

And thus the EU trade with the Kremlin goes on. Blood money, pals. Apparently there’s a video:
