A. The public consultation on the GRA Bill was on a medical model for adults only.
B. The Heads of the Bill excluded males with a GRC from e.g. Women’s prisons and women’s sports.

C. The Seanad passed the bill on the basis of a medical model
D. The Dail changed the Bill, WITHOUT public consultation, after being lobbied by TENI (see link and search for TENI), to be full self ID
1/ This is a shocking read. Treatment for those suffering gender dysphoria is haphazard and of a very poor standard. Detransition rates higher than in previous studies.
2/ Side effects of taking cross sex hormones on female bodies were noted. Notably side effects on male bodies are not discussed

Did you know that in one of the last debates in 2015, just before the Bill was enacted, elected officials tried to push through self ID for preschoolers in Ireland?

2/ Amendment no.33
Proposed that an interim Gender Recognition Certificate was to be allowed for children under 18. Including those attending PRESCHOOL! That would entitle the holder to attend single sex schools, grant access to changing rooms, bathrooms and sports.
