If your house isn’t a safe place for your kids & their friends to hangout in, what are you even doing as a parent?? Yesterday my kids (21 & 23) had a couple of friends over for a swim in the pool. My kids & their friends are part of the lgbtqia+ community & they don’t always
feel safe or comfortable in public areas like pools & beaches to be themselves without the worry of being harmed in some way. It was nice to hear their laughter & joy. To see them being comfortable enough to let their guard down a bit filled my heart. Later in the day another

My 21 yr old has been working the same retail job for the last 3 yrs. They’ve masked the whole time. They’ve consistently had high sales #s the whole time. They’ve been promoted to colour specialist, then assist manager. They didn’t want the promotion as they
wanted to just keep working part time hours so they could continue to pursue their career as a makeup artist & drag performer. Boss really pushed for it. So they agreed. They were run ragged. So very stressed out. Trying to juggle it all was overwhelming. They asked for

To the people on here who ask “why are people wearing a mask in their car alone?” There’s usually some slurs inserted in there as well.
To those people, close your eyes & open your ears. There are lots of reasons why someone would wear a mask in the car by themselves & here’s
just one example why. I put on a mask as soon as I stopped at my friends house to pick her up to take her over to be with her hubby at the hospital where she spends up to 12 hrs a day unmasked. Not only do I have to worry about what she’s being exposed to each day, I also

Not only will I not work extra shifts or stay beyond my scheduled hours to prop up a department of non masking constantly sick people, I refuse to attend company super spreader events. My supervisors know I won’t be attending ahead of time 🧵
And in our teams group chat I shared the waste water data showing where we were in terms of case numbers. I recommended they mask to protect themselves. They chose not to. A couple of my co-workers are in their 60s & work along side people in their 20s

Two co-workers called out sick today. One of them got back from a week away in Vegas & has been off sick for two weeks. The other was out a couple of weeks ago with covid, now has pneumonia. I was asked to stay longer to help cover. My answer was no.🧵
I will not solve this for them. I’m the only consistent masker. A co-worker has started masking & says she’ll mask through the season. We’ll see🤞the rest don’t mask unless they are already sick. Company held a huge gathering a few weeks ago. This is the fallout

I’ve only been at my job for a little over a year & 1/2. I went to the job interview wearing a respirator mask. I haven’t taken it off in the building since I started working there. I have co-workers who have never seen my whole face. Ive eaten every meal outside in my car
and yet somehow I’ve managed to form strong connections with my co-workers & bosses. I know it’s hard for the haters to believe that we can still function with a mask on. Babies still coo at me when I talk to them. Customers still get great service &

Assuming someone has no life because they mask & no longer eat indoors with strangers or acquaintances is silly. While there are many millions of peoples who’s lives have been destroyed by sarscov2 that limits their ability to safely navigate in public spaces & even their
with their own families, there are just as many of us who have listened to their stories & made the choice to avoid that at all costs. We listened to them & we listened to the science & made adjustments to our lives. Not because we “live in fear” but
