Let's be absolutely clear here:

- There is a huge divide of interests and understanding between the urban and rural voters
- That racial and religious sentiment amongst the rural is real
- Urban progressives need to stop talking down to rural conservatives
- Malaysia is divided NOT one leader has acknowledged this or speaks of unity. Instead now it's blaming undi18. Listen. That's exactly the problem. Despite indications that the real concern of the youth were jobs, wages and cost of living - a tangible future - no one seem to listen to them it seems?

So here’s what we know/interpret:

- TDM and GTA wiped out.
- Voters chose PN over BN.
- PAS strengthened in Malay heartlands.
- UMNO needs a change.
- DSAI speaking of “numbers” but how?
- Anti-hopping became a double edged sword.
- Conservatism rules?

This is a new Malaysia. The greatest irony is this is all to be expected in democracy. The emergence of a very clear divide between the “liberal” urban voter and the increasing conservatism of the Malay heartlands is a lesson to be learnt. East Malaysia can now come into its own, and they know it.

The more I hear and read the groundswell isn't there as we saw in GE14. This may end up a very divided Parliament but this reflects our society which itself is increasingly divided. No one has become a unifier, which itself is sad. Predictions? I think it's far too... ...close to call in many seats. I'm sure there will be surprises, the fact so many are predicting scenarios means no one really knows. The test is less than 24 hours away. My real worry? Low voter turnout. I've had too many conversations this last few weeks that people are so...

So do we really need to own a home? This likely a very unpopular opinion. Oh yes the advocates of home ownership (developers and banks too will hunt me down Hahahaha) will balk with horror at the very suggestion. Let's step back a moment and consider that. The property... ...development business is a huge, multi billion enterprise that employs everyone from architects to engineers to plumbers and wiremen and all in between. It ranges from a one man show with a strip of land to build and sell terrace house to enormous townships in "tempat jin...

I know my posts this week been personal this week. For those who follow me for my politics, financial or career advice I apologise, I'm being more holistic. I say and many know that you should always be grateful. Admittedly while I'm working on a potentially life changing deal... ...I have moments of reflection. Would I be even doing this deal if it wasnt for the mentors and bosses I had, who helped shaped me into the corporate I became, but importantly my Mum. A remarkable woman in her own right but the one who made me who I am. The schools, scoldings...

Well after a dinner with an old friend and his wife, who was also business partner as usual - and my Mum who's was our investors and also there, joked - I dominated the table with my stories. So much so my friends wife thought that I should be a storyteller. Hahaha And my friend was a widower. She was a widow. I always see him as a very quiet gentle man but after 3 years of the Pandemic and 4 years of marriage he was a changed man. There was a confidence. He spoke, when he could interrupt me, in a determined voice gone was that passivity.

Today was a cause for celebration. A friend told me that yesterday he had finally met the woman of his dreams, to him pure perfection in one package! Usually, stern and serious he’s now acting like a goofy love struck teenager. You know what? Good for him, congratulations! It’s like those cartoons all those little hearts flutter round his head! It’s adorable! Hahahahaha Moral of the story: Even the toughest of men, can’t resist the powers of love.
