Many ETFs seem to be trading at a big premium or discount to their benchmark. Please keep these things in mind before buying and selling ETFs.

Whenever there are sharp moves in the markets, ETFs can trade at abnormal premiums or discounts. Here are a few ETFs for example. Image When you are buying and selling ETFs, you need to look at two numbers:

- The price
- The iNAV or Intraday Net Asset Value of an ETF

The price is what you see on Kite. This is influenced by market movements, demand, and supply.

48% of medical bills are paid out-of-pocket in India

States such as U. P., Kerala, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh & Punjab go up to 71% 🚨

That’s because most people don’t have a health plan or their cover isn’t sufficient.

Here’s a complete health insurance guide by @joinditto👇

A🧵 1. Selecting the insurer

A few things to look at while finalising an insurer:

Claim Settlement Ratio (CSR)👉

This is basically a ratio of the number of claims they’ve settled to the number of claims they’ve received.

Anything above 90% is good.

Mid-caps and small-caps have risen spectacularly in 2023.

Whenever there's a lot of exuberance, it's wise to remember this quote:

Exchange traded funds (ETFs) have grown tremendously in the last 5 odd years. There are over 174 ETFs; you can easily build a low-cost, globally diversified portfolio just with ETFs.

But before you buy and sell ETFs, you should know a few things.

🧵A thread Image 1. Don't buy and sell immediately at the open market.

The trading volumes of ETFs are low for the first 15–30 mins after the market opens. Due to illiquidity, there can be sharp price moves. So, it's best to avoid buying and selling at market opening.

A simple checklist for picking the best health insurance for you & your loved ones by @joinditto
A thread👇 (1/n) 1.) Don’t split the Bill:

- Insurers might nudge you to consider a co-payment clause, in which case, you’ll be forced to foot a part of the bill each time you make a claim.

Have you tried the Iceberg orders, yet? If you haven’t, here’s a quick explanation of how they can help you when trading 🧵👇 Traders lose more to impact costs than to brokerage and taxes when trading large quantities, and Iceberg orders help reduce impact costs.

Example: A market order of 1000 shares placed when the stock was trading at ₹100, and executed at ₹100.5, leads to ₹500 in impact cost.

Pump and dumps are one of the oldest scams in the stock market.

In a pump and dump, operators who hold most of the shares move the prices by spreading messages through SMS, social media and then dump the shares once the price rises. SMS, Telegram, & WhatsApp, were the most popular channels to spread these stock tips for a long time. But of late, people with large followings on social media and YouTube are being paid to promote stocks through tweets and videos.

As a shareholder of a company, you are entitled to vote on important company decisions like board appointments, corporate actions, mergers & acquisitions, executive compensation, etc. But very few retail investors vote on shareholder proposals.
support.zerodha.com/category/conso… One reason for this is, of course, retail investors are a small part of the Indian markets. The retail shareholding in NSE-listed companies is about ~7%.
