Whenever something activates more people to organize and fight for justice, it’s so hard to see young people confuse frenzy with efficacy.

If you want to be able to build with people over a long time and actually change things, you have to learn to pace yourself. This also means taking breaks. In recent weeks I’ve seen people call discussions of mental health a reflection of western privilege, but I’m choosing to listen to mentors and elders who know better.

Burning yourself out serves no one but the oppressors.

I think direct action is critical and don’t object to pretty much any kinds of protest, but I think doing die-ins is harmful to the people who participate in them, especially when there is a police presence. I have taken part in many of them over the years, and I don’t think the aesthetic benefit or shock value is worth the personal harm, even if it’s not immediately felt.

I just hit the Zillow jackpot. 9 bedrooms, 10 baths, 18,777 square feet and at least five suite of armor for only $50,000,000.

The number one best tip I have for anyone dealing with chronic illness is to make your health binder.

I’m waiting in the lobby at urgent care, and I swear, even when the intake nurses see it, they treat me so differently. In my binder I have all my current prescriptions, a log of my hospital visits, and treatments. I also have the names of my doctors and specialists and my blood work. Being able to reference an official looking thing has really seemed to help from my concerns being dismissed.

If you’re still confused why people of color would be drawn to MAGA when the GOP are openly racist, you have a fundamental misunderstanding the tactics of the right-wing. The right-wing doesn’t need to convince Black and brown people they like them, they just need to convince them that racism isn’t the biggest threat to their well-being.

There’s a very beautiful communications firm across the street from my house and I wish it was socially acceptable to walk in and be like…hey do y’all have a spare desk? I just kind of miss working around other humans? I really miss The Coven.

It's terrible how few people know what conditions are like in shelters, and continue to blame houseless people for being unsheltered.

It's not that they "just don't want to be housed." It's that being unhoused can often be/feel safer than being temporarily housed in a shelter. If you can actually get a spot in a shelter, an increasingly hard feat, most kick you out every day. There's strict times you can be there, especially when it's competitive to get a spot.

Then you're in an environment with a ton of folks dealing with untreated mental illness.

I don’t want white people to stop smudging with white sage just because the plant is endangered and it’s appropriative.

I want people to reconnect to their own cultural traditions as a part of deconstructing whiteness. I feel so bad for people who don’t have cultural practices that connect them to their ancestors. I really think we need that to thrive, to ground ourselves in.

Will people ever stop saying “the intern running the Twitter account?”

I’ve done paid social media work for 14 years. People get degrees in it now. And it tends to pay well. It’s so cringe to see people using 20 year-old tropes. I’ve tweeted for elected officials and candidates at every level of government. And I can barely explain what I do to people because they’re like “wait, that’s a job?”

I hate feeling so bitter about status quo voter outreach efforts, but I started doing this work when I was 16. 19 years ago. And people, especially women of color, have been BEGGING the Democratic party for the same shit since all the way back then. Literally the exact same things: trust us. Trust people already doing the work on the ground. Listen to them. Give them resources. Let them lead.

And every cycle those pleas are ignored.

A big motherfucking fuck you to to all the psycho white women on rollerskates at San Antonio pride, who called the cops on us three times for our “unauthorized banner” even though the Human Rights Campaign told the cops that we were marching with them, twice.

Our banner? Imagine calling the fucking cops to get involved with teenage girls holding this banner, on today of all days. I’m furious.

The cops tried to prevent us from even entering the route. We had to stand their while they deliberated.

Even if it were legally possible to set up abortion clinics on every reservation, LMAO at the idea that Native folks should be y’all’s savior and take on all that risk after you’ve spent centuries either trying to kill us or ignoring us. Native people are more likely to live in poverty, more likely to be sexually assaulted by white men, tribal sovereignty is going to be eroded by SCOTUS and y’all want us to make ourselves targets in a new way? Truly fucking laughable.

Every penny counts to help people access the abortion care they need. Use this toolkit from @AbortionFunds to learn how you can fundraise.

Find it here: docs.google.com/document/d/1w8… Raise Money for abortion fu... @AbortionFunds I made some graphics if you want to share the toolkit on other platforms. ImageImageImageImage

It’s hard to accept, but most Americans will choose their comfort and the preservation of “peace” over anything else.

Violence will be used to fund more militarization of the police. And people will support it, because as long as their family isn’t at risk, they don’t care. The urge to keep ourselves and our families safe is our strongest biological urge. Real lizard brain stuff.

We have to find ways to show people that the real harm to their families comes from growing authoritarian rule, not people protesting it.

It just needs to be said—if Democrats invest in Texas early, Beto can actually win.

Electoral solutions often fall short, but unseating Greg Abbott will actually help keep vulnerable people in Texas safe.

Almost 10% of Americans live here. Help us fight. Texans don't deserve the blame for our situation. The Texas GOP has fought hard to restrict our voting rights. The only thing that can overcome it is the biggest field game in history. We have insanely low voter turnout—the numbers are there if we find the people.

I’m trying to name what I’m feeling, but it’s hard. Abortion is literally the only thing that allowed me to get my education, build a career, and lift myself out of poverty.

The lost of this right is the loss of so many hopes and dreams of Native people like me. I wish I felt angrier right now, but I feel so incredibly sad, transported back to the anxious place I was in before the Hershey Fund gave me the $500 I needed to get an abortion as a freshman in college.

I’m just so sad for people who will have their dreams extinguished.
