The headline news today is that patient leaflets for statins should be changed because statins don't cause most of the conditions they are accused of...
Here are my first thoughts on the latest statin paper from the CTSU/CTT Oxford group... 1) I examined the previous CTT papers in Dec 2025. Including claims of results that weren't significant, large relative risks with tiny absolute impacts.
While this paper seeks to dismiss side effects, benefits have long been substantially overstated & even misrepresented.
