In the summer of 2020, I researched why we'd had coronaviruses for decades but no vaccine.

I knew then that transmission had not even been tested.

I knew then that severity of outcome had not even been tested. I knew then that proper animal trials had not been conducted.

I knew then that trial phases, which should run consecutively had been run concurrently or skipped.
