This is a DISGRACE. It is 11:45 p.m., we have not finished passing a state budget, but the Senate R's forced a Committee vote on an abortion ban. Women and our allies will not stand for this. This is an attack on reproductive justice, on OUR RIGHTS and on OUR BODIES. #PABudget

Another horrific event -before gaveling out of an evening legislative session tonight, every Senate Republican voted against my amendment to HB2032 which would have established a statewide rape kit tracking system. HB2032 only required a study of rape kit tracking #PABudget (1/5)
We don’t need to study rape kit tracking - WE NEED TO ACTUALLY TRACK RAPE KITS SO SURVIVORS HAVE ACCESS TO THEIR EVIDENCE AND RESULTS. But the Senate R’s said nah, let’s just study it - that helps victims, right? #SurvivorsDeserveJustice #PaNeedsCleanedup #PABudget (2/5)
My amendment included the language of my SB860 and @RepMcClinton's HB1848 which would empower victims, increase transparency and give victims timely access to their evidence & updates on their cases. (3/5)
Update from Session—all but 3 members of the @PAHouseGOP just voted to take away funding from in-state students at University of Pittsburgh over medical research, claiming that it’s a “pro-life” vote. Apparently its “pro-life” to take $14K/year away from OUR OWN college students.
To make matters worse, we are now debating an amendment that would hold Penn State students hostage if Penn State doesn’t release the location of a statue of Joe Paterno 🙄🙄🙄
We are literally two three days away from the constitutional due date for the #PABudget and *this* is the nonsense the @PAHouseGOP is focused on. Not lowering gas prices or property taxes, not funding schools, not protecting women’s rights. Instead they’re punishing students.
