This afternoon, one of my regional field directors was arrested in Waller County while delivering a letter to the County Judge.
The letter demanded immediate action to protect the voting rights of students at Prairie View A&M University.
Press release is attached. #TX10 (1/4)
“No one should face hostility when they are trying to have their voice heard by their own government. This extreme reaction by Waller County officials is unacceptable, but sadly not surprising given the county’s long history of abusing power and voting rights violations."(2/4)
“We demand that all charges against Jacob be dismissed. We also recognize that Jacob has the full force of a congressional campaign and a political party to defend his rights. Unfortunately, everyday Texans don’t have that support, but that’s why I’m running for office." (3/4)
"We’re here to defend the dignity, respect, and opportunity of every single person, and we’ll never stop fighting until every eligible voter in Waller County is heard.” #TX10 #SiegelForTexas (4/4)
Please note edit to press release: my staff member Jacob delivered the letter to the county clerk’s office, not the election administrator. We apologize for this confusion.
