Let me tell you why January was the best month yet 👇
There were a few major events.
1. I finished an app for a friend that was only supposed to take a few months and ended up taking 8 months.
2. I shipped an official Chrome extension for the Closet Assistant.
3. I started working on the Closet Assistant 2.0.
The app that I finished was a Trucking freight app that interfaced with the Box API to manage documents between drivers and dispatchers. As a learning experience it was amazing. As a work life balance, it was a mess. It took way longer than expected. I'm glad I'm done!
The official Google Chrome extension is now live! 🎉 closet.tools/chrome Up until now I had users downloading the extension manually and installing it locally. It really cut into my onboarding. I'm so glad this is u. I've seen a significant uptick in installs and free trials.
The first version of the Closet Assistant was an MVP. It got the job done, but it lacked the qualities of a fully-stacked product. I'll be working on the back-end to give the user more flexibility with billing and subscriptions, and I'll be adding a ton of features.
When I was working on the trucking app, I couldn't give 100% of my focus towards the Closet Assistant. Now I can, and it's going to explode. My goal is to reach $10k MRR by the summer.
How will I reach that goal? More features, community building, another free product to use as a lead-gen, and a proper launch (my first Product Hunt launch!).
I really want to utilize a to-do app such as @matteing's @GetMakerlog. This will help with accountability, but also help get my Indiehacker story more into the public eye.
Not only do I want to make great applications for my customers, I also want to inspire other Indiehackers and Makers to make tools that help people and solve problems (and are massively profitable).
The official Closet Assistant 2.0 launch will be this summer, and that's when I want to beef up my personal contribution to the Indiehacker community - by making free guides and courses so anyone can get started.
Thanks for reading! Really exciting things coming up. I'm glad I can share good news with you all.
