Now 3hrs into a SWAT scene in #Miami #Wynwood neighborhood - police negotiating the surrender of a woman in a car with a gun - here is what we know at this point:
@WPLGLocal10
Five hours into it now, Miami police are waiting her out.
From our reporting, it appears the woman either does/did live at Camillus House, and/or uses the homeless-care facilities there.. she may live in that car now, tells police she has the gun for her protection
@WPLGLocal10
Sun is setting & she has not moved, still in the passenger seat of the Honda with the handgun, surrounded by Miami police officers & talking to the hostage negotiator. FWIW- that magazine on her dashboard appears to be the Jan/Feb 2019 edition of World of Firepower
@WPLGLocal10
And... It’s over.... 11 hours later, she has surrendered without incident, is now being taken to the hospital for “evaluation”.
What a slice of Miami life today ... the challenges this woman & others face, and the fallout of decisions they make because of them... 🙏🏼

Eye-opening folo-up to that scene👆🏼with the homeless woman:
While she is obviously in crisis, a new @UnitedWay report shows almost half our S. #Florida neighbors, inc employed, can’t afford to live here
