#EATLancet is on mission: it wants to impose its Great Food Transformation on the planet (& your plate for that matter). How? By eliminating consumer choice & using “hard policy interventions” – what do they mean, how do they plan to achieve that & should you care?

1/n

Enters the @WorldResources Institute: a 'knowledge partner' of the #EAT-Lancet cluster, founded in 1982 & like EAT a close partner of the World Economic Forum (@wef), @UNEnvironment & their industry platform @wbcsd (incl. the major food multinationals) – what is it’s role?

2/n

As #EATLancet's partner, @WorldResources is in charge of the social engineering bit, for instance by applying the “Shift Wheel” approach to “#DisguiseTheChange”, make meat “socially unacceptable” & “constrain its display” – 🤨 So, what else do they have in mind?

3/n

@WorldResources suggests various interventions: nudging, discouragement, 30-day challenges, influence over supermarket display, nutritional labelling & dietary guidelines, application of a meat tax or even the banning of meat from menus - but that's only talk, right? 😬

4/n

Tactic 1: #nudging. In other words, fool the people with cheap marketing tricks. Never say "Vegetarian sausage", use "Better Sausage" or "Field-grown Sausage" instead. Hold on, I thought they wanted to improve health, not "boost sales"?

5/n

Tactic 2: use powerful allies to promote meat alternatives. The plant-based market is a very lucrative one, so @wbcsd is more than happy to assist.

6/n

Tactic 3: make it a global issue. "For the climate". @UNEnvironment is now officially promoting junk food.

7/n

Tactic 4: also from the @WorldResources playbook: 30-d challenges. #Veganuary etc.

8/n

Tactic 5, another trick mentioned by @WorldResources: change #supermarket display (backed up by a study from Oxford & funded by the Wellcome Trust, also funding #EATLancet)

9/n

Tactic 6: shape nutritional labelling and #DietaryGuidelines. The new Canadian Dietary Guidelines are now encoding #EATLancet advice into national policy.

10/n

Tactic 7: the #MeatTax. Of course. Supported by the elites from the @wef at #Davos.

11/n

Tactic 8: ban meat. Ex-communicate it. By the way, Christiana Figueres is on the Board of Directors of @WorldResources. You can't make these things up.

Think this is all theoretical and no politician would be that crazy? Think again.

And get prepared for more.
