In plain sight, the fossil fuel industry, the for-profit healthcare industry, the NRA, big pharma, and plenty others are negotiating with your elected officials over how much your life is worth. And too many ppl are ok with being sold out as long as it's by politicians they like.
You should want politicians to get an "F rating" from ANY industry that seeks to profit at the cost of people's lives, not just the NRA, because politicians can either prioritize CEOs' bonuses or they can prioritize the greater good, but they can't do both.
You can't keep treating differences in policy as genuine disagreements when they boil down to who's accepting the most money to help the fewest people. If people only care about accountability for their political opponents, accountability becomes just another way to score points.
#VoteBlueNoMatterWho is great until it's used to give cover to those who just get by on not being as bad as Trump. #VoteBlueNoMatterWho is great until it's used to silence critics of a system that gave us Trump in the first place.
Becoming more like Trump to win is still a loss.
Not only is this the worst advice, but it's also a false choice. If the next Dem president chooses the donor class over real change, the pendulum will swing further right than you've ever seen. Becoming diet republicans to beat republicans is capitulation.
