Our approach to #SolvingLagosTraffic has always been short and long term. Fix the potholes on the roads; add more traffic signs & lights to improve navigation; improve law & order on our roads, improve road security working with the police & @followlastma.
Also, increase the capacity of our bus rapid transport system, build new and improve existing jetties to increase water transportation; improve security on our waterways and work with the private sector to invest in water transportation. #SolvingLagosTraffic
The @lspwc and @followlastma were among the first agencies we empowered as soon as we came into office. The LSPWC has rehabilitated roads in different parts of Lagos though so much more still needs to be done. The solutions were mostly palliative #SolvingLagosTraffic
In Lagos, the rains have always been a blessing and a curse. Water levels in Lagos are very high and because of our existing road infrastructure and drainages we are limited in our ability to manage flooding. #SolvingLagosTraffic
Bitumen, a key ingredient for road construction and rehabilitation cannot survive during the rainy season. Asphalt paving can't be completed while it is raining so any intensive construction work on Lagos roads was almost impossible. #SolvingLagosTraffic
