- Local advertisers must accept advertising from political campaigns for federal office
- Political campaigns automatically receive the LUR (Lowest Unit Rate) available for their ads
- Political ads cannot be pre-empted by non-political ads in the same class

- PAC's do not receive any of these benefits, just candidates

Registering as a candidate allows your advertising dollars to go much further than running a PAC.

So if someone were to, say, announce their candidacy at the last minute, skip the debates, skip campaigning, skip fundraising, & dump $100m+ of their own money into their "campaign," it's not because they're looking for an easy road to the White House...

...or because they want to split the party.

It's because they're a multibillionaire who understands media, has no intention of winning, and wants to bury Trump.

People upset with Bloomberg for "acting like Trump," and "trying to use money to subvert democracy," might want to step back and consider that he may be the best hope of saving it :)
