Mitigating pollution & providing effective cleaning had been the priority for all municipal corporations & ULBs in Delhi.
I was delighted to flag off 6 mechanical road sweepers, 17 tractors with water tankers, 2 super sucker machines & 26 CNG powered trucks for the SDMC areas.

These will add to effectiveness in Swachhata activities & water sprinkling for making Delhi clean & pollution free.
My Ministry has provided an amount of ₹12.64 cr from Urban Development Fund (UDF) for these vehicles for attending to Swachh Bharat Mission.

I am happy that SDMC is making sincere efforts to procure the best quality machineries/ vehicles.
With the wholehearted efforts of ULBs & citizens, SwachhBharat has turned from a govt’s mission to a Jan Andolan.

After Hon’ble Prime Minister’s clarion call of giving top priority to Swachhata Mission, @MoHUA_India has been instrumental in pursuing this cause in urban areas across the country.

SDMC has shown remarkable progress in the rankings of Ease of Doing Business. I am hopeful that they will do equally great work in the upcoming #SwachhSurvekshan2020 & will stand among the top cleanest cities of our country.

It was great to witness how SDMC Commissioner, Gyanesh Bharti has been taking up new initiatives & practices to lead in Swachhata efforts. Machineries inducted will be deployed in inaccessible areas & will help in cleaning of silted drainage which was otherwise a difficult task.

The CNG trucks will be deployed to transport malba & other wastes for necessary work. Also, mechanical sweeping of roads & controlling roadside dust will be fulfilled by these newly procured machinery.

Smt Sunita Kangra, Mayor, SDMC mentioned that the ULB is doing well under #SwachhataHiSeva Campaign & that they are further determined to take up cleanliness & pollution control activities in the area with further force & commitment.

My Ministry is funding nearly ₹100 cr to SDMC for procuring machineries for improving Swachhata activities, road side pavement, vertical gardens, plantation etc to improve clean air and cleanliness in the municipal areas.
