I'd like to talk about the power of social media, or perhaps the lack of it, in deciding the next leader of the Ontario Liberal Party. I'm working on Michael @coteau's campaign - he's a leader I believe in strongly. And this is something the team is split on. #olpldr #onpoli 1/10

The person we choose will lead us in the 2022 election and may well be our next Premier. Right now, the choice is in the hands of 36,000(ish) members of the party. At our convention in March, it will come down to voting by 3,000(ish) delegates. That's all. #olpldr #onpoli 2/10

To be blunt, if you aren't a party member already you don't get a vote. And many would say your opinion doesn't matter. Which is why the power of social media - and reaching out to non-members - is in question. Why appeal to people who can't vote? #olpldr #onpoli 3/10

I believe social media is important. It can't be everything, but I do think it matters. First, many of those members and eventual delegates are here. And I'd like to hear more from those members. Drop me a msg! But I also think everyone else has a role too. #olpldr #onpoli 4/10

The people who will pick our leader want a candidate who can win. @StevenDelDuca, who I believe would be a disastrous choice, is presenting himself this way. He says "look at my big donors, look at my support by party insiders." That's his proof he can win. #olpldr #onpoli 5/10

Common sense for a moment. You win an election when people vote for you. Yes, fundraising, organization, all of that matters too. But if our leader isn't worth voting for - if he or she can't inspire people with a plan to move forward - we're nowhere. #olpldr #onpoli 6/10

Even if you aren't a member of the Liberal Party - aren't even sure how you'll vote - I believe your voice is important. In the coming months, I'll be challenging you more and more to talk about who you want leading this province, and what you want from them. #olpldr #onpoli 7/10

The people who will pick our leader are paying attention. Not all of them, but enough. So please, take this seriously. All the anger and frustration about Ford is understandable. But it has to translate into some action. We have to get behind an alternative. #olpldr #onpoli 8/10

If you want us to pick a leader who appeals to real people, you have to be vocal about what you want. Take a look at @coteau. Listen to his story. He comes from the very communities this Ford government is leaving behind. He gets it because he's lived it. #olpldr #onpoli 9/10

Don't let this be only about money and insiders. Don't prove @StevenDelDuca right. His campaign believes that as long as we organize enough and spend enough money, you'll vote for any not-Ford option at all. I believe we can do better. Be a part of that. #olpldr #onpoli 10/10
