All #wmata rail lines are operating normally at this time, normal mid-day off-peak schedules. Some additional trains may appear in the system thru the afternoon to help w/early Fed closing.

Extra #wmata trains are just now beginning to leave yards and go in service to support earlier afternoon crowding. A few more trains likely will come online over the next couple hours for an early ramp-up to afternoon rush service.

Some #wmata trains may hold at times as track inspection crews finish up their midday work. Crews were already out and about before the early Fed closing was called.

This is a legit Blue Line train heading to Virginia from Mt. Vernon Sq. #wmata

When the Feds close early and everybody flees #wmata

This....is actually an impressive level of delay trying to leave the (Fairfax-owned, #wmata operated) Wiehle parking garage.

One less #MARC train this evening
