Asked if she and #CarrieLam will go to Wuhan and find out more about the mysterious viral pneumonia, Secretary for Food and Health Sophia Chan said the government would continue to rely on existing notification system with its mainland counterpart.

Secretary for Food and Health Sophia Chan dodged the question from Civic Party lawmaker Alvin Yeung whether the government would call on citizens to wear masks in crowded places.
Note that hearing for government's appeal for mask ban will start tomorrow in High Court.

Secretary for Food and Health Sophia Chan said HK does not have "cases of that type of pneumonia found in Wuhan" - though the gov does not know what type it exactly is.
Chan also could not tell the latest case numbers in Wuhan and other cities asked by lawmaker Tanya Chan.

Secretary for Food and Health Sophia Chan said the Department of Health has been in touch with the National Health Commission every day and asking for more information, and she believed the mechanism is working well.
Note the latest number of cases in Wuhan was by 8am on Jan 5.
