Biggest take away might have been President’s assertion that #Iran is “standing down” after #IranAttacks on American military bases overnight in Iraq. Don’t know how this statement will play in Iran #NexstarDC

The Congressional Progressive Caucus says they’re supporting a repeal of the #AUMF -2002 authorization for the use of military force. It was written up to defend against a nuclear threat from Saddam Hussein, used to justify military action in Iraq for Obama/Trump #NexstarDC

Caucus is also supporting stripping funding for offensive strikes on #Iran and a War Powers Resolution to limit President’s authority to authorize strikes without congressional approval #NexstarDC

Lawmakers, led by @RepBarbaraLee, are working to repeal the '02 Authorization for the Use of Military Force in Iraq. It was written to protect against WMDs, pre-Iraq war. Since then Pres. Obama & Trump have used it to authorize military campaigns in Iraq @kron4news #NexstarDC
