I honor the Kusso, whose descendants are the Edisto Natchez-Kusso Tribe, as the traditional people of the area now known as Charleston South Carolina where tonight's #DemDebate #SCDebate is taking place. They are a state recognized tribe still seeking federal recognition.
The USA needs a national dialogue on race, gender and class. A conversation on par with the Truth and Reconciliation Commissions that took place in ZA, CA & RW. Because reconciliation implies a previous harmony, I would call ours Truth and Conciliation.
Stop and Frisk is a symptom of the fact that the Thirteenth Amendment does not abolish slavery. It merely redefines and codifies slavery under the jurisdiction of the criminal justice system. I am the only candidate calling for the complete abolishment of slavery.
This debate is embarrassing and not very presidential.
The Second Amendment is dripping with white supremacy & implicit racial bias. It was written to arm white men to terrorize black people and create militias that were used throughout US history to ethnically cleanse Native people. #DemDebates #DemDebateSC
