Not in my wildest dreams would I scream at, punch at or tear away a woman's sign even if it attacked my lived experience. If a woman held a sign that said "porn is great for women", I'd feel hurt, because I've experienced porn inspired assault, but I know that she's not at fault.

How can people feel righteous doing this to women who are openly stating that they are survivor of the sex trade? Can you imagine equating aboltionists including survivors with fascists and wishing death upon them? How can you be at a rally against violence & throw objects at 🚺?

Even if you think that abolitonists are hurting women in the trade through bad laws - the same way that we think a deregulated approach abandons women to john & pimp violence - your primary anger is with the violators, not their misled enablers, which is how we view each other.

You convince 'misled enablers' through dialogue, not intimidation or violence. If theres no space for dialogue and disagreement, democracy dies. It's not hyperbole. And you will understand this the moment you have an unpopular opinion and fear the aggression of your chosen peers.

And the day will come when some of your opinions diverge from the group you have chosen to join that doesn't allow dissent. That considers dissenting opinions on par with violence. And then you'll be screamed at or even punched. If you deserve better, so does every other woman.
