Some updates from Monday's Stop Police Crimes meeting. For those who don't know, we hold meetings every Monday where we discuss the day to day operations of the Chicago Alliance. We're putting weekly updates on twitter to let people know what's going on and how they can help.

Gerald Reed is still in Stateville after he was illegally reconvicted by judge Hennelly. We are pressuring JB Pritzker to demand his immediate release along with a mass release from all Illinois prisons and jails. Call him now and use this script.

Tamon Russell is at Hill Correctional Center. To inquire about his health, call the warden, Christine Brannon: (309)343-4212. Use extension 150 to speak to a counselor.

The mayor rushed through the process of appointing David Brown as the new police superintendent. Brown was already chosen before last week's meeting on Wednesday, further showing how undemocratic the process is. Police answered no questions about how Brown was vetted.

We are phone banking, calling our supporters and asking them to make calls to public officials demanding #MassReleaseNow. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to do this and you can easily do it from home.
Call: (312)513-3795 or (312)409-0101 to get a list of phone numbers and scripts.

A separate thread of updates on the Campaign to Free Incarcerated Survivors of police Torture (CFIST) will be up this week. The main thing to know is that we are still demanding the release of Gerald Reed and every torture survivor in addition to the demand for #MassReleaseNow

Our weekly calendar will be posted and (probably) pinned to this account each week. With the shelter in place order we've been putting as much time into social media mobilization as possible. Use these calendars to stay updated on what we're focusing on and how you can help.

We usually pass the bucket around at some point during our meetings, so consider this a virtual bucket. If you have any money to spare, donate it and share the gofundme. If you don't have anything to spare, share the gofundme. We appreciate you either way.

The Chicago Alliance is supporting @uspcn in building for #PalestinianPrisonersDay on April 17th. We encourage all individuals and organizations to participate because the demand to #FreeThemAll includes those locked up in occupied Palestine.
