Early this afternoon I received a dm from a single father who was begging for help for not himself but his children.
His common law partner left him and their three children earlier this month and refuses to return. He wrote to me begging for help because he has not been able to find work in order to support his children since he is now raising them on his own.
He didn’t ask for fast food or junk food or crap food, but asked for groceries that would allow him the make healthy meals and snacks for his children. All he asked for is items that would allow him to help his children.
I asked him “What about you? What do you need? What would you like to have?” He replied “I don’t need anything I’m a single father of three children who didnt deserve to have their mother abandon them. I will do everything in my power to provide for them and help them thrive...
...ill go without eating just so they have another day 2 eat Ill eat 2 stay alive but I am living for them.”
I gave him a list of resources in YYC that he can access and he has told me (and I have verified this) that he has been in contact with almost all in the list I gave him
And I asked him if I could share his story in hopes someone could help him and his family out even more. I have been asked to keep his name and general area private but if anyone would like to gift him anything I can bring it to the family myself as I provided him and his kids...
...with a belated Easter dinner and Easter baskets full of goodies for himself and his three children and I also bought him some groceries as well.
