.@FishersIN Mayor @ScottFadness says @FishersFireDept will begin offering #Covid19testing late next week to any resident who wants one. He'll also ask city council tomorrow to make Fishers the 3rd Indiana city with its own health department (along with Gary and East Chicago).

Fadness says city will also create rapid response teams to address popup #coronavirus outbreaks, and offer public health advice to businesses on how to reopen safely.

Fishers will set up $500K loan fund for #SmallBusinesses to help them reopen.

Commercial #stormwater payment for first quarter waived. Those payments will instead be spread over the next three bills. The next billing deadline is July 15.

Fadness: city public health board will set rules Monday for city testing. It'll be for Fishers residents, and will "follow medical protocols." That could limit testing to the groups traditionally targeted: people with symptoms, and people in risk groups.

Fadness: "I believe we have the capacity to go beyond" those traditional risk groups in testing, but says that's a medical decision and will be left to the medical experts to set parameters on Monday.

Fishers is spending $2M from its cash reserves to set up testing program. Fadness says he expects to conduct 200-300 tests a day. "It's not about going out and getting everyone tested immediately; it's, how do we set up an infrastructure for the long haul."

Fadness says 8 of Hamilton County's 41 #coronavirus deaths have been Fishers residents.

Fadness hopes to set up #PPE "starter kit" for businesses -- not as a permanent supplier of masks and gloves, but to get them started while they find their own source.
