This figure in 🇫🇷 is also around 50% while in 🇵🇱 half of young LGBTI report to suffer from depression. Yet the Polish governement has lifted the obligation to have anti-discrimination classes in schools despite the suicide of two young teenagers. @Odothmani @mag_jeunes_lgbt
In Hungary, those kids who report harmful behaviour are often told by school authorities to "let it go" or "just stop acting so gay." It's urgent that Member States address these violations & utterly inadequate response and put in place training prgs for school personnel as well.
Unfortunately, instead of standing up for them, many gvts not only let their #LGBTI youth down, they actually promote homophobic views, via billboards, discriminatory discourse or allegedly fighting what they call "gender ideology" or the "sexualisation of kids."
I am humbled by the work done by NGOs working to listen/support/protect/fight for #LGBTI ppl across 🇪🇺!
We must ensure that now & during the post-#COVID19 recovery, these NGOs have sustained access to funding, increased capacity-building & political support!
