Whether it's academics or uninformed online comments - the myth that there is a voluntary prostitution sector clearly seperate from any pimping and trafficking is so wide spread. Not sure how you can get a paper published making such a claim, when... well: dieunsichtbarenmaenner.wordpress.com/establishments
It's not that abolitonists say that all #prostitution = #trafficking, but that both occur in the same brothels, frequently using the same websites and exchanging women (as in women may have entered freely, but later be trafficked or trafficked woman escapes pimp but can't exit).
I don't understand how you can possibly claim that you reliably know that a specific sector of the trade really is free of pimps - or even free of pimps selling children for crying out loud. See examples of ordinary legal licensed brothels being raided for child trafficking.
Also, dear pro prostitution academics: Increased acceptance of #prostitution and #pornography does not equal increased acceptance of people in those industries. A love for the industry frequently goes hand in hand with a profound hatred of the people in it.
Also if you're making a survey that asks people "are you for legal prostitution or against?" instead of asking who should be decriminalized (people in the trade | all pimps | all johns | pimps where coercion is proven | johns were coercion is proven) your survey just sucks!
Once more on public opinion survey: That guy that circles "I support legalizing prostitution" is not neccessarily saying "and I would be friends with a woman in the trade and have her at my dinner table, without any sexual expectations, because she is a human of equal value".
Dear male pro #prostitution academic who said the "pornification of today's society" is a rightwing/feminist invention and that we're going through an era of unprecedented sexual liberation. I am a female student who can't even google studies without involuntarily finding porn.
