Farm mapping is one of the important moving parts of our process.
The first thing we do is ask about the farm history, we ask questions like, how long have you been farming, what are the kind of crops were previously cultivated on the farmland? #Agriculture #ThriveAgric
After, we check for proximity to water bodies for irrigation, we check the number of tree stands and stumps.
We also digitally map out the coordinates and size of the farmland to see how close it is to the next farmland.
The last part of this process is to collect soil samples to test if the nutrients present are suitable for optimal growth and yield.
We do all these just to make sure the farmland is suitable for the operation cycle and can match the projected yield that drives profitability.
We also check for the colour of leaves and ask the farmer if he has used manure, organic fertilizer or any phosphates on the farmland in the past.
The data we collect from the mapped farms are then verified on Google Earth pro and stored for easy monitoring by our field workers.
We recently onboarded 150000 farmers and we are looking to do more before the year runs out.
We are relentless in our vision to capture more value for farmers and also build an Africa that feeds itself and the world. #ThriveAgric
