If you were on one of the Amphib Landing Ships the morning of the D-Day invasion, this is what you would have been staring down. Many troops were killed by machine gun fire before they hit the beach. 4400+ Allied Troops were killed on this day alone defending against evil.
2. I took these photos at Le Memorial de Caen @CaenMemorial. Highly recommend a visit. #DDay76
3. And these from Omaha Beach. U.S troops assaulted Omaha and Utah beaches. British assaulted Gold & Sword. And the Canadians assaulted Juno Beach.
4. Visiting and paying respects at the Normandy American Cemetry, was also a moment I’ll never forget. And one I would highly recommend. #DDay
5. #DDay| Very proud of my family. Uninterrupted military service going back four generations to the Boer War.
