32 people still denied rescue despite distress situation and reported dangers to their health. Small children and a pregnant woman are in critical health condition, according to the people in the boat. Greek and Turkish Coast Guards leave them alone in the sea.

We call on the international community to step in now. Sea rescue is a duty and denial of rescue is a crime. @Dunja_Mijatovic @Frontex @UNHCRGreece @EU_Commission @EUCouncil @Refugees @HCoastGuard

The people are saying: "Our boat has a hole and water is entering. There are the Turkish and there the Greeks and they just watch." They need to be rescued immediately!

"No one cares about our lives, if we live or die. We are the victims of the political power games between Greece and Turkey." 32 refugees in distress north of Lesvos must be rescued now! Their most recent position is: 39.3921558, 26.0806859

32 lives in danger & the world stays silent!

RESCUE NOW! "we are scared to death. since 1.5 hours we are exposed to waves & our boat is full of water. we cannot imagine what happens if darkness comes at night." Latest position is in Greek waters: 39.392985, 26.107481

+++ Immediate Action needed+++
According to the people on the boat, the pregnant woman appears to be in labour. It seems that her water broke - we fear that she might lose her child.

We once again repeat our urgent call to the competent authorities to carry out a rescue operation immediately! Their last position at 21.15 CEST was at 39.3950 N, 26.1892 E. The woman on board is still in labor & in need of medical assistance.

@HCoastGuard @Frontex @Refugees

@HCoastGuard @Frontex @Refugees ++ Probably rescued 15+ hours after our first alert to the authorities ++

We heard from several sources that the Hellenic Coast Guard finally towed the boat to Petra but we are still waiting for a final confirmation by the migrants that they reached safety.

At 23.35 CEST the Hellenic Coast Guard confirmed in a phone call that they finally rescued the 32 people, including the pregnant woman, to Petra, #Lesvos.

As we reported 2 days ago, all 32 people in distress near #Lesvos were eventually rescued to #Greece. To our knowledge, the pregnant woman has fortunately not lost her baby. Thanks to everyone who spoke up & made pressure. Without it, they may not have survived.
