REMINDER: #LGBTQ parents are still fighting for their rights. #FathersDay

Approximately 114,000 same-sex couples are raising children in the US.

1/3 of that population lives in states that only recognize a non-gestational parent as a legal parent if a couple is married. (source: @lgbtmap)

And 40% of that population lives in states that have no explicit protections against discrimination in foster care based on sexual orientation or gender identity! (source: @lgbtmap)

Earlier this week, we secured a victory with @IEquality for Roee and Adiel Kiviti after the Trump administration refused to recognize their daughter Kessem's citizenship because she was born abroad, even though her dads are both citizens. #FathersDay

There is still a long way to go to achieving equality for #LGBTQ parents, and we'll be fighting for them every step of the way.

Today we honor dads and all of the parents, parental figures, and caretakers showing up for their kids. #FathersDay
