1. #MoE to clarify some facts in regard to inc. load shedding in #Karachi by K-Electric which is attributed wrongly to non-availability of fuel by Petroleum Division.
#SSGC is providing a total of 250 - 290 MMCFD of gas including 75 - 100 MMCFD of #LNG.
2. Meanwhile #PetroleumDivision has made arrangements for supply of 80% of Pakistan domestic RFO production to KE power plants. In addition, Div. is supplying 30,000 tons of RFO from storage of other power plant to immediately fulfill requirements of KE.
3. Federal Cabinet has also allowed to #PSO to float a Gallop International Tender to purchase RFO for KE. The tender has already been published.
4. The Federal Cabinet also approved provision & allocation of 150 mmcfd of LNG for new power plants of KE, the construction of which will be completed by KE by next year in 2021.
5. 👆above steps clearly indicates Govt's commitment to provide support to KE & the people of #Karachi. It is unfortunate to note tht KE didn't made investment in sys. up-gradation resulted in load shedding at peak time.
6. However, The GoP & MoE is ready to extend all available support for provision of uninterrupted power supply to the residents of Karachi.
