It seems we need to make something clear:
These children are currently held in FAMILY detention centers. They are not alone. They are WITH THEIR PARENTS. They DO NOT need sponsors.
What they need is to be released with their family. #FreeThemAll

We say this because we’ve received many well-intentioned but problematic asks around how to sponsor children being released.
We feel it’s necessary to point out that most of these asks have from white folks.
It gets even more problematic when this is the case 👇🏽
Please understand that white supremacy comes in all shapes & forms.
If you haven’t heard of the “white savior complex” we recommend you google it and inform yourself. There’s a variety of resources online to find out more.
So the question shouldn’t be “how can I sponsor a child?”
It should be “what can I do so that families are released TOGETHER?”
& the answer is: Call Congress & demand @ICEgov release families #SafeAndTogether. Family separation 2.0 needs to be stopped. #FreeThemAll
