A consistent pattern has appeared in children presenting at clinic.
I suspect that it is true for non clinic population too.
Details -
Typical presentation - both parents now working from home, schools online, tuition classes online, hobby classes online, playgrounds and outdoors closed for over 3 months now.
Parents report enormous increase in work hours due to all the "meetings" they have to attend online.
Most report that their work hours are now more than previous work hours + commute time!!
Children are pretty much on their own with unlimited internet access and all that goes with it.
Sensible parents are already worried about erosion of their parental authority at home.
Unchallenged autonomy to young kids is a worry for them and they can't do anything about it as their full time attention is on keeping their jobs.
Will we be hit by an avalanche of difficulties in children? My guess is - Yes.
Will employers and "managers" do anything about it? - absolutely NO
Why? Most Managers are in 10yr older than suffering crowd and children are not huge issue for them.
"empathy" doesnt sit well with "growth".
