For more detail on consequences, read @1Br0wn's excellent [Thread]: but to (crudely) summarise, the US Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act #FISA, which permits unwarranted surveillance of non-US citizens - what @CasparBowden called #Cloudveillance...

...means you will not be able to use US cloud providers and remain compliant with #GDPR, and (for now) UK #DPA2018.

Neatly, if your provider didn't inform you it was under #FISA, it will be liable for your costs of cancelling your SCCs & transferring data to a compliant regime.
