This is a little in the weeds, but since the media likely would not give this the light of day, we have to do their work for them & we need YOU to help us get the word out. Sources are cited at the end of the thread. 2/
THROUGH AN ABUSE OF POWER, @GovAndyBeshear IS FULFILLING POLITICAL PROMISES ON HIS DADS BEHALF 3/
What you need to know:
Cabinet for Health & Family Services is rushing through an emergency regulation (E-Reg) related to ambulance svcs that will benefit the Bowling Green (BG) Medical Center, as a means to benefit donors & a former staff member of the Steve Beshear’s...4/
...administration. The E-Ref on today’s committee agenda is 900 KAR 009.075.
Who you need to know:
Roger Thomas - Former Democrat State Representative (District-21 from 1996 to 2004). Thomas served as Steve Beshear’s Executive Director of @GOAPky...5/
...& Director of Legislative Legislative Services (1). Most recently, he served on @AndyBeshearKY’s transition team. He is big donor to @GovAndyBeshear. 6/
Doris Thomas - Wife of Roger Thomas. She serves as the Vice-President of the Commonwealth Health Corporation (CHC) (3). She has also contributed heavily to @GovAndyBeshear’s campaign. 7/
Adam Mather - Less important here, but notable. Appointed Inspector General for CHFS. Donor to @AndyBeshearKY 8/
BOTTOM LINE:
@GovAndyBeshear’s admin is engaging in cronyism & corruption. This E-Reg is benefiting the BG Med Center & harming other hospitals. BG Med Center is owened by CHC, which Doris Thomas is VP of. Her husband has along connection w/ the Beshears & this is a means of...9/
paying favors back to @AndyBeshearKY’s daddy’s buddies. The person who will be testifying in favor of the emergency regulation is Adam Mather. Talk about the fox watching the hen house! 10/
On June 25 of 2020 inspector general Adam Mather received a letter from the Kentucky Hospital Association that expresses their OPPOSITION to this emergency regulation. Keep in mind, they likely represent the BG Medical Center, yet they still oppose the E-Reg. They wrote: 11/
“By UNANIMOUS vote of this board & certificate-of-need committee the KHA recommends Ambulance services be removed as a component of the state health plan....the KHA believes that the favorable presumptions available through non-substantive review are appropriate, at this...12/
...time, for ambulance services....On behalf of the KHA we appreciate your consideration of these comments & hope you will accept the recommendation to grant non-substantive review status to ambulance services by removing it as a component of the 2020-2023 state health plan.” 13/
This letter can be received by doing an ORR! Ask yourself, why on January 2, 2020, would a new administration that is trying to get its footing have an ambulance service on its radar? Why an emergency regulation when the KHA opposes? It’s to reward Beshear cronies! 14/
For a gov who prides himself on holding govt to a process (see his lawsuit as AG against the sewer bill), why be so quick to move this fwd? CRONYISM! PAY FOR PLAY!
